Designers and photography enthusiasts work with professionals in the field to enhance the way they capture images of urban landscapes. This field session includes hands-on instruction for photographing urban landscapes and gardens. Following specific image assignments helps attendees achieve the photographic results they are after. Images from session participants will be displayed in ASLA Central.

$115 per person by July 12; $130 after July 12; includes transportation, water, and catered lunch. Extensive walking. Attendees must have DSLR—digital or film (digital preferred), charged batteries, battery charger, and member cards. Filters, tripod, and trigger release are welcome but not necessary.

Learning Objectives:

• Learn how to photograph urban landscapes and gardens working with professionals in the field.
• Review simple techniques that make a big impact for achieving professional quality images, focusing on composition, light, and capturing motion.
• Understand the importance of image selection.
• Critique photographs in a group setting, allowing for different perspectives to help improve the way you capture images and see the landscape
