Air quality is one of the latest frontiers for landscape architects to blend placemaking and environmental remediation. To effectively address air quality, design interventions must be appropriately paired with technology and research. This session will provide a playbook for cleaning the atmosphere, with special attention given to California case studies.

• Learn how cutting-edge technologies are being used for granular air quality analysis.
• Explore best practices for California to select and work with technology partners to tackle air quality.
• Examine effective design interventions for air quality at the site, city, and regional scale.
• Participate in an evidence-based discussion of the efficacy of site and landscape design strategies to improve air quality.
