Making informed decisions is paramount in healthcare and policy. Finding, collecting and evaluating the evidence is often challenging for researchers and practitioners. Knowing how to collaborate with Informationists can save effort, time and ensure a successful outcome. This workshop will highlight the differences in knowledge synthesis methods and share techniques for applying advanced search tools to nutrition research searches. Attendees will be given the opportunity to build strong search strategies, determine useful publication databases, and evaluate search results. Presenters will provide an overview of a variety of research databases, how to find gray literature and evaluate research impact using bibliometrics. Speakers from USDA National Agricultural Library, National Library of Medicine and an academic library will help investigators and practitioners find research, collect evidence and evaluate results.
