Director of Guiding Stars
Julie's work focuses on the confluence of food retailing and public health. In 2003, she led the team that launched Guiding Stars nutrition navigation program now implemented in over 2,500 retail locations and food service providers. Since that time, Julie has worked inside Ahold Delhaize at the national and global levels to make changes that result in a healthier food assortment. She collaborates with academic researchers, participates in multi-stakeholder initiatives and partners with food manufacturers to identify strategies that have a positive influence on the health of the communities Ahold Delhaize serves. Currently, Julie is working in the Guiding Stars Licensing Company division of the company, identifying new ways to use this powerful nutrient density model.
