This education session will review the management of uterine cancer using a case based tumor board format with special attention to controversial but common clinical scenarios and will include a gynecologic oncologist as well as radiation oncologists to discuss different approaches to management. The clinical impact and need for surgical staging in all uterine cancer patients as well as the recommendation for adjuvant radiotherapy and what volume needs to be treated in those who have positive sentinel nodes or isolated tumor cells without additional nodal evaluation is an open question. The use of adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy also is a source of considerable debate particularly in women with locally advanced uterine cancer. Given the recent data from PORTEC 3 and GOG 258 that have been either published or presented at international meetings, the role of chemoradiotherapy vs chemotherapy alone is particularly controversial. This educational session will review these controversies, and the impact of adjuvant therapy on local control, survival and quality of life will be explored. We will use an interactive audience response system to engage the audience and to understand differences in practice patterns.
