Dr. Gary Kirsh is the President of The Urology Group, a 38-urologist integrated group practice headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. The group provides approximately 70% of the urologic care to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky/Eastern Indiana metropolitan service region of over two million lives, and owns and operates its own surgical, imaging, pathology, radiation, and clinical research services.
Dr. Kirsh has a long history of involvement in organized urology, urologic health policy, and advocacy. He is the Immediate Past President of LUGPA and the North Central Section of the AUA. He is a Past President of the American Association of Clinical Urologists and a Past Chairman of UROPAC, Urology's political action committee.
Currently, Dr. Kirsh serves on the AUA Health Policy Council, and he chairs the LUGPA Political Affairs Committee as well as the LUGPA APM Task Force. In the latter role, Dr. Kirsh is working actively with his colleagues to develop specific alternative payment models for urology.
Dr. Kirsh has frequently spoken to urologists across the country on the socioeconomic and political issues facing urology and organized medicine. He has maintained longstanding relationships with various legislators and their staffs and has provided legislative testimony in support of physicians’ issues.
Dr. Kirsh earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine in 1984. He completed his urology residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1989.
