The laparoendoscopic single site suregery (LESS) technology has presented new frontiers to enabling modification and refinement of established conventional laparoscopic procedures. The improvements offered by robotic technology ultimately resulted in robotics being adopted in LESS. While this approach has improved over time, there has still not been widespread adoption of LESS secondary to innate challenges that still exist. A novel device specifically designed for single-port robotic surgery will be introduced in the near future probably this year and will improve our ability to perform these procedures. There is no doubt that these new approaches will continue to push the limits of minimally invasive urology. A correct adoption of single port robotics into urology practices at a time when new robotic tools are introduced will create an urgency to educate urologists for early use of future single robot approaches.
