Medical Director Kidney Stone Clinic
Dr. Juan C. Calle is a nephrologist who graduated from medical school at the Universidad CES in Medellin-Colombia in 2002. During medical school he visited the USA and participated in several clerkships in different internal medicine specialties at Emory University in Atlanta, GA; Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN; and Yale University in New Haven, CT. He practiced as a general practitioner in Colombia before moving to the United States. He then completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Mount Sinay Medical Center in Miami Beach affiliated with the University of Miami, FL in 2009. Subsequently, he completed his fellowship in nephrology and Hypertension at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN between 2009 and 2012. Since then, he joined Cleveland Clinic as the Medical Director of the Kidney Stone Clinic and serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. He is also a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and his main interest is in the prevention of kidney stone disease and its association with other systemic co-morbid conditions. He works in close collaboration with the urologists at the Kidney Stone Center at the Cleveland Clinic.
