John Stoffel MD is a Professor of Urology, Service Chief, and Associate Chair for Ambulatory Urology at the University of Michigan. His clinical interests include urinary incontinence, neurogenic bladder, and complex abdominal reconstructive surgery. He is certified in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery (FPMRS) and a member of the Society of Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU) and the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons (GURS). He is one of the founding members of the Neurogenic Bladder Research Group, a national multicenter research collaborative devoted to advancing knowledge about neurogenic bladder, and is an externally funded researcher with support from PCORI and the Department of Defense. His research interests include bladder physiology and quality of life before and after surgical interventions for patients with neurogenic bladder conditions. He is also the Associate Medical Director for the University of Michigan Medical Group, and has interest in quality improvement systems.
