Kimberly Kenton MD, MS is a Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Urology, Division Chief of Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, and medical director of Northwestern’s Women’s Integrated Pelvic Health Program. She has served as an FPMRS fellowship program director since 2007, mentoring numerous fellows from both Gynecology and Urology, who have gone onto successful academic careers as well as a former Obstetrics & Gynecology residency program director. She is recognized for her leadership in gynecologic education having developed and published innovative surgical and research educational curricula. Dr. Kenton is currently a member of the ACGME Obstetrics & Gynecology Review Committee, chairs the AUGS Education Counsel, and serves on the IUGA Education Committee. She formerly served the ABOG FPMRS Division and test writing committee. Dr. Kenton also possesses substantial expertise in clinical outcome and translational research. She earned a Master of Science in Clinical Research Design and Statistical Analysis from the University of Michigan and has had continuous NIH funding for over a decade, serving as PI on multiple NIH grants. She has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications on pelvic floor disorders and gynecologic education and served on the editorial boards of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Journal of Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery. As medical director of Northwestern Medicine’s Integrated Pelvic Health Program, she leads a transdisciplinary team of specialists from FPMRS, colon & rectal surgery, physical therapy, and sexual health who work jointly to develop innovative, integrated care plans that move beyond discipline specific approaches to address common pelvic floor problems. She has an active surgical practice focused on minimally invasive, patient-centered care.
