Ricarda M. Bauer is Professor in the Department of Urology at the Klinikum Großhadern, Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich.
Professor Bauer completed her urology residency at major university teaching hospitals in Cologne and Berlin. She obtained her medical degree at the University of Munich in Germany and received medical training at Baylor College in the United States and the University of Montpellier in France.
Following her training, Professor Bauer became an attending urologist at the Klinikum Großhadern, Ludwig-Maximilian-University and is head of the Subdivision “Functional Urology and Urogynecology”.
Her subspecialties and areas of research are male and female incontinence, pelvic organic prolapse, urogynecological infections and andrology. Professor Bauer has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on these subjects and has also been an investigator for a number of clinical trials. She is a member of the „Working Group of Functional Urology and Female Urology“ of the German Association of Urology and the “Young Academic Functional Group der European Association of Urology (YAUM)” and Vice-Chairman of the DOMINO-Project (Debates On Male INcOntinence). Professor Bauer is also a member of the Editorial Board for European Urology and several societies, including the International Continence Society (ICS), the German Continence Society (DKS), the European Association of Urology (EAU), the American Urological Association (AUA) and the German Association of Urology (DGU).
In 2015 Professor Bauer was the chair of the annual meeting of the German continence society.
