Dr. Paul Austin is the Director of Pediatric Urology Basic Science Research Program, Director of the Complex Urologic Reconstruction Program and Professor of Urology at Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Austin leads a robust basic science research program that is funded by the NIH and investigates the molecular pathways involved with renal injury resulting from obstructive uropathy. In addition to his basic science work, Dr. Austin is also recognized as a leading clinical trial investigator of lower urinary tract function and serves on global advisory panels for national and international urology clinical trials. Dr. Austin is the current President of the American Association of Pediatric Urologists and former Secretary General for the International Children’s Continence Society and served on the Executive Committees for the Society of Pediatric Urology, American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Urology and American Association of Pediatric Urologists. Dr. Austin has published over 110 peer-reviewed articles and authored/edited 29 books and book chapters.
