Dr. Sekar is currently a PGY3 resident in the Department of Urology. He graduated with Honors from Emory College with a BA in Economics, focusing on health policy and behavioral economics. He subsequently spent two years working as a Health Policy Analyst at RTI International where he focused on various national health care reform initiatives, including the implementation and analysis of Accountable Care Organizations for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. He then attended Emory University School of Medicine, achieving Junior AOA and graduating with Honors. Dr. Sekar’s research interests include immunotherapies for urologic cancers, the role of inflammation and the immune system in cancer pathogenesis and prognostication, health policy, and opioid use in surgery.
