Harry W. Herr, M.D.
Dr. Herr received his medical and urologic education at the University of California, and completed a research and clinical fellowship in urologic oncology at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Herr has served on the Faculty at MSKCC for more than 40 years, where he is currently Attending Surgeon and Professor of Urology at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Herr is best known nationally and internationally for his work on bladder cancer. Notable contributions include BCG for non-muscle-invasive tumors, neoadjuvant chemotherapy for muscle-invasive cancer, quality of surgery for bladder tumors, specifically role of transurethral resection, radical cystectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy, and patient selection and outcomes after bladder-sparing strategies. He has published more than 500 scientific articles and trained over 250 Fellows in urologic oncology, including many current and future leaders in urology.
