Dr. Marcotte is a Canadian and US (ABIM) board certified adult cardiologist in adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) and non-invasive cardiac imaging, namely echocardiography (FASE) and cardiovascular magnetic resonance (EuroCMR, EuroCMR CHD & CBCMR). He completed his medical training at Université de Montréal in 1983 and his residency in internal medicine & cardiology at McGill University in 1988. He completed fellowship training in echocardiography (echo) at the Université de Montréal in 1989 and in ACHD at University of Toronto in 1990. He founded the McGill University Jewish General Hospital ACHD Center in 1991 and later consolidated his knowledge in cardiac imaging at University of Toronto in 2000. He was recruited to the Montreal Heart Institute in 2002, serving in ACHD and echo and significantly contributed in developing the cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) Imaging Service and in several publications in ACHD and non-invasive cardiac imaging. He has been committed to teaching students, residents and fellows and was named clinical teacher of the year at the Montreal Heart Institute in 2007, 2009 & 2010. He was recruited to Mayo Clinic Arizona in late 2016 as director of the ACHD Clinic where he is currently primarily devoted to patient care and teaching in echocardiography, CMR and ACHD.
