Dr. Anita Chan completed the MD/PhD program at the University of Alberta, with funding support from Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research (now Alberta Innovates). She subsequently completed Internal Medicine residency at the University of Ottawa, followed by Cardiology residency and subspecialty fellowship training in Nuclear Cardiology and Stress Echocardiography at the University of Toronto. She is a former member of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society Trainee Day Planning Committee in 2015 and 2016. Her teaching was recognized by the University of Toronto MD Program with a Teaching Award of Excellence for 2017-2018.
Dr. Chan is currently a Clinical Associate in the Division of Cardiology at University Health Network in Toronto, focusing on outpatient General Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre. She also practices community-based outpatient cardiology.
