A skilled and passionate movement expert, Michelle Hillier’s mission is to get people of all ages and abilities moving in their OWN way. She believes everyone deserves the chance to "dance" and her motto is “You Can’t Get it Wrong!! Michelle knows what she’s talking about; and what she’s moving, grooving and speaking about. A professional dancer and teacher for over 20 years, Michelle underwent a double hip replacement at age 43. Her personal healing and identity journey gave her the gifts of insight and compassion, deepening her commitment to help others connect with their bodies and feel good from the inside out. From her fun and vibrant 5-15 minute large crowd activations to her inspiring keynotes, Michelle gives her audiences a transformative and unforgettable experience with concrete tools and messages to take away.
Under her leadership, her team has “grooved” over 1 million people in the corporate, education and recreation sectors. A recent TEDx presenter with professional experience on the stage, Michelle has become a sought after speaker and facilitator for any industry. Michelle is also a published author, sharing her philosophy about dance and movement. Sometimes considered a "movement disrupter”, her customizable and unforgettable presentations and workshops are often called transformative, and the best part is that when you move with her, “You Can’t Get it Wrong!”
Michelle has been a pioneer in the education sector, inspiring thousands of teachers through designing and delivering trainings and workshops with the focus on making dance accessible for all. Since 2008 Michelle’s Groovin’ Kids program reached over 800 schools, community centres and camps for over 1 million children and youth across North America. Michelle is also a published author in a national textbook sharing her philosophy about dance and movement. Michelle holds a B.A. and B.Ed. and is currently on faculty at UOIT and Brock in the teacher education program and at York in the Dance AQ course for current educators.
Her track record delivering movement experiences through her unforgettable approach to extremely large and diverse pool of participants over two decades is incomparable. By using music and movement, audiences are challenged to be brighter, bolder versions of themselves and feel an increase in their confidence, creativity and connections.This is Michelle’s personal mission.
