The Workshop Planning Committee (comprised of academic/community cardiologists, and a trainee) felt that based on positive feedback from previous years' "My Worst Echo Nightmares", an ongoing Part IV would work towards providing succinct case based presentations focused on difficult, acute echocardiographic cases where discussion and management of different cardiac pathologies is undertaken in an interactive setting. This workshop is based on the use of echocardiography as a front line tool in the diagnosis of life threatening pathologies including endocarditis, free wall rupture, cardiac tamponade as examples. As in previous years this workshop will engage a broad audience including cardiologists (academic and community based), trainees, nurses, cardiac surgeons, and sonographers. Unlike previous years, this year's workshop will be split over 2 sessions - allowing 5 unique speakers per session to present for 8-10 minutes each with 2-4 minutes for questions. This will build upon feedback from previous sessions and provide a chance for 10 unique cases, presented by 10 unique speakers representing academic cardiology, community cardiology and trainees. The speakers will be from different geographical sites across the country and as a diverse group are well balanced experts. The session will be interactive with 2 ARS questions comprising each case with audience participation strongly encouraged.
