We are proposing a highly interactive case based workshop to highlight the CCS-CAIC STEMI guidelines which were presented at the CCC in October, 2019 and published in the Canadian Journal of Cardiology in Feb 2019. Two STEMI clinical case scenarios will be presented, one involving a patient who presents to a non-PCI centre and another for a patient who is identified by paramedics in the field. One of the cases will also involve cardiac arrest. Each case will be presented (5 min) followed by an interactive session with the audience using the IVRS; the audience will then be asked to vote on next steps for key decision points outlined in each case (15 minutes); audience members will also be offered the opportunity to use the microphone to discuss their responses and their rationale. The panel will then have 5 minutes to discuss the guideline recommendation for that scenario, the evidence that supports the recommendation and comment on any issues that are unknow or remain controversial. Thus each case segment will be 25 minutes, with >50% of each case dedicated to interactive audience participation. 5 minutes will be reserved for introduction and 5 minutes will be reserved for a wrapup discussion.
