Come join our experienced cardiology residents on the use of point of care ultrasound (POCUS) in the clinical setting. We will cover POCUS theory followed by hands-on training using POCUS on volunteers, with an emphasis on IVC, lungs, and the heart. Attendees will also participate in simulations where they can apply POCUS findings to tackle clinical cases. No prior POCUS experience is necessary! This is a perfect session for medical students and IM residents.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

• develop an understanding of POCUS and its use in the clinical setting;
• obtain useful images of the heart, lungs, and IVC to facilitate clinical decision-making; and
• differentiate between normal and abnormal findings using POCUS; and
• Apply your knowledge to simulated clinical cases.
