Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

• describe the cardio-renal spectrum in type 2 diabetes (T2D);
• differentiate between the cardiovascular outcome trials in T2D;
• implement the recommendations of clinical practice guidelines and translate recent clinical trial evidence into risk-reduction approaches in T2D; and
• develop partnerships across the continuum of patient care to promote shared decision making for patients who have T2D.
