STEMI care requires efficient communication & collaboration. This can be challenging, especially for patients in rural & remote areas. We would like to present an innovative means of activating STEMI care. The current model is slow, inefficient, inaccessible, and unsecure.
Our application is a new, disruptive STEMI activation model that is timely, efficient, & scalable. It has the potential to reduce the time of care, improve prescription of evidence based medicines, and reduce false activation thus reducing healthcare costs. The application has received positive reviews from emergency medicine and interventional cardiology providers. It has passed multiple independent security and ethics reviews.
We hope that the pilot study will be successful and application will become the means of STEMI activation for all hospitals referring to the Hamilton General Hospital. Such an application can easily be scaled across Canada for management of acute coronary syndrome and other medical emergencies.
