Lystek International is an award-winning Thermal Hydrolysis Process (Lystek THP) that optimizes wastewater treatment plants and enhance resource recovery for biosolids and other (non-hazardous) organic materials. The Lystek technology leverages a combination of high-speed shearing, alkali addition, and low-pressure steam in an enclosed reactor. The process (in less than 45 minutes) transforms raw or digested biosolids into multi-purpose products with a range of benefits: increased production of biogas and reduced overall biosolids volumes, costs, odors, and greenhouse gases (GHGs). The system also produces a marketable, Class A quality biofertilizer product and a safe, cost-effective, alternative source of carbon for BNR systems.
