Resource Recovery: Lessons from CA's Largest WRRF

This session will discuss: (1) the opportunities to use LACSD's sewer system to meet stormwater capture goals in compliance with a municipal or industrial stormwater permit and/or create additional reclaimed water supplies; (2) the challenges and considerations to be evaluated in the planning process for a sanitary sewer diversion; and (3) the evaluation and approval process to incorporate a sanitary sewer diversion into a stormwater project. As an example of what can be accomplished when the wastewater engineers apply their knowledge to stormwater projects, the presentation will also highlight the innovative features of the Carriage Crest Stormwater project that was developed by the Sanitation Districts for the City of Carson.
