John Turnipseed currently serves as a Project Manager for the City of Fresno, Department of Public Utilities, and has over 21 years of varied public and private professional and leadership experience. This experience encompasses working in the areas of logistics, water/wastewater operations, finance, housing rehabilitation and project management. John has worked for the City of Fresno since September 2007. As a Project Manager in the Department of Public Utilities, he is responsible for overseeing the Asset Management Program, including development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and procedures. He previously served as a Project Manager in the Development and Resource Management Department, where he managed over 4 million dollars in federal and state funded grant programs ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations, Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines, environmental regulations, and historic preservation requirements.
John also has ten years of experience working for FedEx Express as an Operations Team Leader and Dangerous Goods Specialist. He was responsible for coordinating daily work tasks for his assigned team in support of the company’s goals of providing timely high value-added logistics, transportation and other business services while ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines.
John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, Fresno, and D2 Water Distribution Operator Certification in California. He is pursuing his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
He is currently the project lead on the implementation of Infor Enterprise Asset Management, which is a Computerized Maintenance Management System to be used to track the operation and maintenance of over 3 billion dollars in City of Fresno utility assets.
