Session 8:30 – 10am (1.5 hrs)
Break 10 – 10:15 (coffee/tea provided)
Session 10:15 – 12:15 (2 hrs)
Buffet Lunch 12:15 – 1:00 (buffet located in foyer; dining in Andreas Room)
Session 1:00 – 3:30pm (2.5 hrs)

As the current utility workforce ages, new training techniques are needed as we transition to the next generation of professionals. This workshop will cover the fundamental concepts of operating an activated sludge plant to achieve nutrient removal via a combination of lecture material and hands-on use of a process simulator.

Learner Outcomes:

• Understand the fundamental concepts of operating an activated sludge process to achieve nutrient removal.
• Improve their ability to troubleshoot nutrient removal treatment processes.
• Use a simulator to experiment with various process control concepts to improve plant performance.

Level: Intermediate; working knowledge of subject matter / journeyman level staff
