Creating a Winning Succession Plan: Empowering, Mentoring and Developing Your Laboratory Staff (FEE)

To provide laboratory staff and managers with easy tools, tips, and techniques to create a comprehensive succession plan. During this session, experience interactive team-building skills, and learn how to use management techniques to mentor, empower, and develop your laboratory staff.

Learner Outcomes:

• Conduct an initial evaluation of the current staff, their responsibilities, strengths and threats to succession planning.
• List the tools used to create a lab Mission Statement, generate an Employee Excellence Plan, and to create procedural changes in the lab to improve efficiency.
• Describe tips to help empower their staff, colleagues and coworkers, to motivate and train them for future success.

Level: Advanced; extensive knowledge of subject matter / senior level staff
