The City of San José is developing a 190-dry-ton-per-day biosolids dewatering facility at the San José-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility that will replace existing lagoons and drying beds to control odors, diversify end-use options, and better utilize valuable land. This presentation will address technical and implementation aspects of the project.

• Gain a fundamental understanding of technical issues associated with planning, design, operation, and maintenance of mechanical biosolids dewatering facilities.
• Understand the decision-making process involved in planning complex capital facilities in coordination with other existing and planned facilities.
• Understand how the progressive design build project delivery model can be utilized on capital projects at water resource recovery facilities.
