Many California water resource recovery facilities are facing the prospect of more stringent nutrient regulations. This session will cover field testing available to rate plant capacity, predict future performance, and aid in planning for new regulations. Topics include wastewater characterization, nutrient profiling, nitrification growth rate testing, and clarifier testing.

Identify additional sampling that will improve planning and design for future nutrient removal.
Recognize the benefits and challenges of different field tests.
Prepare for field testing as part of planning and design of nutrient removal facilities.
