The workplace is a complex arena of social engagement; at best it is functional and collaborative towards a given vision and mission. At worst, it can be a dysfunctional combat zone! In this session we will explore the need for leaders to focus not simply on the work to be done, but also how the team does the work. Whether a team leader, or “leading up” within a team, this session will offer insight and practical ideas for implementation.
More specifically, in this session we will:
• Define and discuss 8 aspects that define “best-in-class” teams:
• Share a means of evaluating your present team’s health and functionality
• Discuss the nature and value of team maintenance and team building activities.
In the cut and thrust of day-to-day work place pressures fine-tuning team performance is often deferred for “when we are less busy”. After this session, we hope to redress the value of investing in team maintenance and the significant returns such a focus can reap.
