Co-digestion has many benefits, but what are the lesser known costs and challenges? What are the impacts on nutrients? Water reuse? What are the real world impacts on biosolids and biogas production? This session will explore some of the tradeoffs of co-digestion and how EBMUD is identifying and managing them in its well established co-digestion program.

Learner Outcomes:

Describe the challenges and impacts of co-digestion on a WWTP.
Evaluate what some of the tradeoffs might be at their own facility between co-digestion and other plant goals.
Better understand the hidden costs associated with the benefits of co-digestion.
