The most important diagnostic test for lameness assessment is the orthopedic examination. Executing an accurate exam requires a combination of experience, finesse and knowledge. The purpose of this session is to cover some essential tips that should make an immediate impact for assessing dogs and cats with orthopedic disease. Important concepts, such as appropriate restraint and palpation techniques, will be discussed. Certain uncommon but potentially useful maneuvers will also be covered. There will be a strong emphasis on concepts that are not well covered in most contemporary textbooks.
