As our client’s pets age, it is inevitable that their vision will diminish due to changes of their lens. This case-based lecture will review nuclear sclerosis, lens instability and cataracts, and ways to differentiate between them. We will also review information to tell your clients about how these changes may affect vision and what they can do to potentially slow the progression and deal with vision loss. A review of cataract surgery, including pre- and post-care, potential complications, and long-term prognosis will also be discussed. This will include video of phacoemulsification with the placement of an intraocular lens.
