This session will focus on discussion of basic communication skills including verbal and nonverbal communications with clients. Focus on learning skills for obtaining information in an efficient and thorough way to improve communication with clients and clinical case success. Objectives: 1.) Recognize nonverbal communication cues and interpreting what they indicate about what a client is saying and feeling. 2.) Utilize verbal communication skills, such as reflective listening, empathy statements, open-ended questions, summarizing statements and sign posting. 3.) Practicing nonverbal and verbal communication skills to build rapport with clients.
