Graduated from University of Marmara, Medical School Istanbul, Turkey. Residency and Fellowship Training at University of Rochester, New York. Worked at Tucson Veterans Hospital as chief of IR and developed a vascular interventional consult service. Performed all endovascular services at the VA including endografts, carotid stenting and peripheral arterial interventions. Moved to University of Virginia and had opportunity to work with Drs Alan Matsumoto and Mike Dake. Performed many complex arterial interventions, averaged over 3000 cases per year. Started interventional oncology program at Moffitt Cancer Center by initiating radioembolization treatment as well as many other procedures such as Nanoknife ablation. In 2011 performed highest number of Therasphere treatments in the world. Also started TIPSS, peripheral arterial and dialysis interventions at Moffitt. Currently practicing at Rush University Medical Center as the director of vascular and interventional radiology. Increased IR case volume by 50% during the past 4 years at Rush. Started critical limb ischemia program with Dr Ulku Turba. Together over 750 lower extremity interventions performed for critical limb ischemia. Boosted radioembolization program from 10 to over 100 treatments/year. Started complex aortic interventions with stent grafting using fenestration and parallel grafting techniques. Current research interests include radioembolization, aortic and peripheral vascular interventions.
