A system is a whole that derives its characteristics, good or bad, from the interactions of its essential parts and none taken separately.
Energy and water are linked and cannot be separate. Water will become “Blue Gold,” the next large issue. This energy and water nexus must become a major consideration when designing, constructing, retrofitting and rehabbing homes. Water and energy just magically appear when we want them. They are also connected to the air we breathe and the food we consume. All four seem to have become invisible because we have easy access to each. Water, Air, Vegetation and Energy (WAVE) are all under stress. Money and water flow in the same direction. If you are a system thinker this is a must see session.
