Every successful business relies on having enforceable contracts and employees who perform those contracts. But writing contracts is not always easy, even for lawyers. In addition, there are numerous employment laws that expose companies to various forms of liability when dealing with employees. This presentation will help companies learn about certain provisions to include in customer and subcontractor agreements, such as terms of performance, limits on liability, indemnity provisions, warranties, insurance, fees/costs, and more. This presentation also will address at a basic level common employment law issues, including wage/hour compliance, independent contractor relationships, avoiding discrimination claims, and document retention practices.
