As the smart home moves from futuristic vision to a present reality, how do we ensure that those who can most benefit from financial savings from smart home devices aren't left out. As products such as smart thermostats are coming down in price and being integrated into many applications including WAP programs, there is the potential for the smart home to be accessible by all. This panel will explore several pilots, projects, and partnerships and show how the smart home can play a major role: to help utilities engage customers, to implement demand response events, to get results in WAP programs, and in housing authority projects, all to help expand access to smart home technology.
