The utility is getting its second chance to play a key role in the smart home. The first yielded modest DR participation through smart thermostats; this second wave promises to be much bigger.
The utility needs to engage now to ensure these three tenants of the smart home are preserved: 1) Interoperability, 2) "Outeroperability", and 3) Energy Efficiency. This session will teach the utility how this can be done.
