Each year, more homes get energy labels such as Energy Rating Index (ERI) or Home Energy Scores. But are the metrics on these labels currently comparable? Can a buyer easily compare the expected energy use between homes with different energy labels? The National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) and the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO) are working to make sure you can. Come to this session to hear what their research has uncovered about differences between modeling engines, and how they are working with software providers and energy labeling programs to offer a solution. Questions on how to maintain information comparability going forward will also be discussed.
