Combustion safety testing has stabilized after a major overhaul in the last several years, but is still different than many are accustomed to. Procedures have been updated in the SWS and will also soon be updated on the HEP exams. Multiple organizations, including BPI, NFPA, and ACCA have all come into substantial alignment. This session will review the different protocols, discuss why these changes have occurred, describe the current minimum test procedure, and explore the implications for the residential retrofit industry.
