Remediating Duct Leakage: New Duct Sealing Strategies & Techniques

Studies have long identified leaky ductwork as commonly the single biggest contributor to energy loss in residential homes. Unfortunately, the disruption, demolition and limited results associated with traditional duct sealing methods has relegated duct sealing servicing to “last resort” status.

To address this major issue, the U.S. Department of Energy funded research that led to major breakthroughs in duct sealing technology. The result is a completely new approach to duct sealing that elevates duct testing and remediation to a top priority status for home performance contractors looking to gain immediate and impactful results.

This presentation will look at the major impact that duct leakage has on home performance and review the pros and cons of the various methods currently available to remediate this significant problem. We will review the impact that new duct sealing technology is having on the home performance industry as well as several real-world examples of how effective duct sealing has had an immediate impact on homeowners.
