THIS IS MY FIRST CONFERENCE – WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW OR DO? We’ve tried to cover lots of common questions in this list. If you don’t see an answer to your question in this list, please contact us at conference@forensicnurses.org
WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE FOR THE CONFERENCE? Dress code is business casual. We recommend dressing in layers as it is difficult to predict the temperature in a room where you have a large number of people gathered. We also recommend wearing comfortable shoes!
INTERNATIONAL ATTENDEES Some travelers coming to the United States need visitor visas. Click here to visit the U.S. Department of State website for additional details related to passports, visas, etc.
HOW CAN I RECEIVE A CONFERENCE BROCHURE? We’ve gone green! New for 2019, we have an interactive conference website instead of a printed conference brochure. The new mobile app will be available in September.
WHAT NETWORKING ACTIVITIES OCCUR DURING THE CONFERENCE? There will be multiple networking opportunities for conference attendees, including breaks and meals during the day, NEW Dine-Around activities Tuesday night, a Welcome Reception Wednesday night, and the IAFN Foundation event Thursday night.
IS WI-FI AVAILABLE? Free basic Wi-Fi will be available in the meeting space and in New Orleans Marriott guest rooms.
WHAT MEALS WILL BE COVERED AT THE CONFERENCE? Wednesday through Friday: Breakfast and lunch are included each day Wednesday evening: There will be a Welcome Reception with light snacks provided. Saturday: Breakfast is included.
I HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS – WILL THEY BE ACCOMMODATED? IAFN can accommodate most dietary restrictions identified in advance. Please let us know about your dietary restrictions during the registration process. We cannot accommodate last minute dietary requests on site.
CAN I ATTEND A PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP BUT NOT THE WHOLE CONFERENCE? Yes, you can purchase a pre-conference workshop only. Contact conference@forensicnurses.org for registration assistance.
HOW CAN I BECOME A CONFERENCE PRESENTER? If you are interested in presenting at an IAFN conference, our Call for Abstracts opens in January each year. If you missed the window for this year’s conference, you are welcome to submit an abstract for next year’s conference in January 2020.
HOW CAN I BECOME AN EXHIBITOR? If you are interested in exhibiting at the 2019 Conference, visit the exhibitor page for more information.
