University of Arizona ANE-SANE Program
Erica Freese is the Program Coordinator for the University of Arizona ANE-SANE Program. She oversees the provision of funding and additional support to train and certify nurses to be Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) in Arizona, Nevada, California, Hawai’i and the US Affiliated Pacific Islands. Erica has a Master of Public Health degree in Family and Child Health from the University of Arizona. She served as a Student Ambassador for Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health. She has a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science from Colorado State University. She was awarded the Western Undergraduate and Graduate Exchange Scholarships and was an AmeriCorps Scholarship recipient.
Erica has ten years of experience in the health field including work as a health center assistant for Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains and an endoscopy technician for Gastroenterology of the Rockies. During her graduate program, she was a teaching assistant for an upper-level human sexuality course and an intern with the Arizona Family Health Partnership. She worked as a research specialist at the Western Regional Public Health Training Center before accepting her current position. She serves on the Pima County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART).
