Dr. Susan Gerber is Chief of the Respiratory Viruses Branch in the Division of Viral Diseases, National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Dr. Gerber started at CDC in 2012 as Team Lead for the Respiratory Virus and Picornavirus Team in the Division of Viral Diseases. She went to medical school at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine; and she completed a pediatric residency, chief residency, and pediatric infectious diseases fellowship at the University of Chicago. Dr. Gerber has 14 years of experience in local public health with work on communicable diseases at the Cook County Department of Public Health and the Chicago Department of Public Health. Dr. Gerber is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
