Completed my medical training in Sudan at the University of Medical Sciences and Technology where I graduated as valedictorian. Completed my internal medicine residency at Providence Hospital and a health policy fellowship at GWU in Washington DC. Then went on to complete my Infectious Diseases fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh where I was chief fellow and focused on hospital epi/infection prevention and MDR clinical and genomic epidemiology. Currently completing a medical microbiology fellowship at Emory University. Academic/Research interest are using -omics technology to track MDR organims in the healthcare setting and fecal microbiota transplant for MDR colonization eradication in addition to work as a guest researcher with the NIH Antimicrobial Resistance Outcomes Research Initiative group where we levarge large datasets for epidemiologic investigations of antimicrobial resistance.
