Lorraine Sheldon is the Community Engagement Librarian for the Gibson D. Lewis Health Science Library in Fort Worth, Texas. In her role, she focuses on connecting the community outside of the university with quality health resources and information. This includes creating digital health tools, participating in local health fairs, providing library tours, and facilitating health literacy programs for children and adults. Before joining Lewis Library, she started her career working at the Bahá’í World Center International Archives in Haifa, Israel as a photo archivist. After returning to the U.S., she worked for several years as a Regional Coordinator for the South Central Training Institute, a non-profit education system designed to build capacity in individuals to improve society. In all of her work, she strives to create impactful contributions that advance the populations she serves.
