Bette Bissonnette, MLS, has served as the DIrector of Library Services at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC) since January, 2016. She holds a BA in History from Fitchburg State University and a Masters of Library Science from the University of Rhode Island. Prior to AUC she worked as the Director of Library Services at the New England School of Acupuncture and as a One-Person Library (OPL) at Saints Medical Center in Massachusetts. MLA activities include: Hospital Section Professional Development Grant Jury member, 2008, Research Development & Demonstration Grant Jury member, 2018, Research Development & Demonstration Grant Jury Chair, 2019, Facilitator, Leadership Roundtable, 2007 and 2016. Other professional activities include: North Atlantic Health Sciences Libraries (NAHSL), Secretary, 2008, Professional Development Committee, 2008, Annual Meeting Committee, 2008; Massachusetts Health Sciences Library Network: Chair, 2008, Chair Annual Meeting, 2007, Annual Meeting Committee, 2005, 2006, 2019, Strategic Planning Committee, 2005; Northeast Consortia for Health Sciences Information: Secretary, 2005, 2006; Boston Biomedical Library Consortium: Chair, 2006; Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners: Special Advisory Council for Libraries, 2014.
