The Public Health National Center for Innovations and the Center for Sharing Public Health Services have partnered to develop and implement the Cross-sector Innovation Initiative, which aims to support, promote, and disseminate learning about the role of governmental public health departments in aligning efforts across the health, public health, and social services sectors to improve population health. The initiative will explore and test facilitators and barriers to alignment between sectors to provide innovative models for others to adopt in advancing population health. During this session, presenters will share more details about the initiative; findings from an environmental scan that explored existing cross-sector collaborations and the factors that contributed to them; and a grant opportunity for cross-sector alignment activities involving health departments and public or private partnerships among health care and social services entities.
