Beyond F-1: Preparing Students for Immigration & Employment Options After Graduation

Thursday, November 14
2:30 PM - 3:45 PM
Location: Constellation F

We will discuss immigration issues that international students may face post-graduation, and present useful information for advising students on changing non-immigrant status for temporary or permanent employment, entrepreneurship, or further study. We will discuss co-ops, internships, and other curricular experiences and how to pair these with immigration programming to prepare international students for the next step. This discussion will also touch on new trends in immigration regarding duration of status and issues related to unlawful presence. We will explore university-level programs to aid entrepreneurial graduates, highlighting the innovative Global Entrepreneur-In-Residence H-1B visa pathway.
